Wands are one of my current favorite “earthwork” (artworks inspired by and with elements of the earth incorporated into them) to create. This is another favorite; I was walking with a friend along the shingle beach in Rye, East Sussex on a cold, blustery winter’s day. Jo, who knew my penchant for making art from found objects in nature, picked up a stick and said, “This could be one of your wands”. She was so right! It had the perfect shape. All of nature is magical, but you will have to infuse the wand with your own magic! For a full description and closeups, watch the video below.
