Cleared artwork for film production

After three plus decades in the art department, I know what a nightmare cleared art can sometimes be. Over the years, as a decorator and buyer, I have researched and sourced artwork for all manner of film production from the usual suspects: cleared art agencies, props houses, public domain and individual artists. I’ve also created or licensed original artworks for my own sets and those of film colleagues. I’d like to offer the same to you!

I am known (in small circles) for my signature style; it is illustrative, playful and usually vibrantly colored. As an artist and a bibliophile, I love to make books: handmade, pamphlets, accordion, altered, etc. Mixed media (giant puppets! oversized stuffed doll!, collage & cold wax, encaustic, etc.), earthworks (artwork with natural items incorporated into it), and a smattering of photography - primarily from my travels - are also in my wheelhouse.

I am happy to create custom artworks for set dressing, props and even wardrobe from afar. (Recent example: I foraged in Colorado for natural materials to create set dressing for a film shot in Savannah, Georgia. I worked with the decorator long distance with pinterest mood boards, sent her works in progress photos then shipped her several boxes of gorgeousness! )

I am still very much a set dec buyer; I have taken some sabbatical time in the last few years for extensive travel, with some film work thrown in, but would now love to crew on a good show with great art crew. I am presently nomadic - and a serious traveller) so I’m happy to go on-location. A real dream job for me would be as an in-house artist/maker for a creative movie or show for a few weeks or the full run. That would allow me to work in person with production designers, art directors, set decorators or property masters daily. Call me!
