A self portrait I did when I was trying to learn how to meditate to ease my restless mind. It is also a hOMage (get it? ;- ) to my love of nature. Spending time deep in nature is creates an effortless state of meditation and communion for me.

Original artwork; ready to hang with sawtooth hook on back. Watercolor & ink on paper mounted on wood substrate with resin coating. Dried petals and leaves embedded in the resin. I love to forage & use what I have and things I find. This incorporation of found & natural objects is becoming more and more important to my artwork. It relates to the three Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle) and my love and respect for our beautiful earth
