Hobo antlers! Artwork of found and collected (mostly natural) objects, part of my earthworks collection.

I wanted to add some symbols or pictographs to these but nothing was grabbing me. Then I remembered some mini crayon pieces I did years ago of hobo symbols and that seemed perfect, as there are some who think that’s what I am now. (A hobo wasn’t a tramp, btw. They were itinerant laborers. Scrappy survivors. I’m kinda like that!) And like a hobo, I make use of what I have and things I find. This incorporation of found objects is becoming more and more important to my artwork. It relates to the three Rs. See photos for descriptions of symbols and “ingredients”. The base is encaustic wax with cold wax overlays. It should be ideally be displayed out of direct sunlight.
